Company Overview
Valley Energy is a natural gas distribution company serving nine communities in Bradford County, Pennsylvania, and three communities in Chemung and Tioga Counties, New York. We supply natural gas to approximately 9,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers. Natural gas is distributed through a 205-mile pipeline distribution system.
Valley Energy, Inc. is wholly owned by C&T Enterprises, Inc., an unregulated holding company with its principal office located in Lewisburg, Pa. C&T Enterprises is a jointly owned subsidiary of Claverack Rural Electric Cooperative, based in Wysox, Pa., and Tri-County Rural Electric Cooperative, with headquarters in Mansfield, Pa.
C&T Enterprises was formed in 1998 to facilitate the purchase of Citizens’ Electric Company, a private electric distribution company based in the central Pennsylvania town of Lewisburg. In later years, C&T expanded its operations through the acquisition of Wellsboro Electric Company, located in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, and Valley Energy, Inc. C&T Enterprises and its family of companies employ approximately 180 people. Governed by an eight-member board of directors, C&T also provides management and support services to its affiliated companies in the areas of information technology, finance, human resources, payroll, communications and media relations, and operates an after-hours call center.
Community Activities
Valley Energy actively participates in and supports many community activities and organizations. We are members of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Bradford County Chamber of Commerce, the Valley Economic Development Agency and the Bradford County Conservation District.
